Content Pillar

A core topic your content strategy is organized around.

A content pillar is a broad topic — usually 3-5 per brand — that everything you publish supports. Around each pillar, you build a cluster of related sub-topics linked back to a central pillar page.

Topic clusters (pillar + sub-topic pages with mutual internal links) signal topical authority to Google and AI search. Instead of having scattered content on 200 unrelated topics, you have deep coverage on 3-5 themes, which the search engines reward.

Choose pillars by mapping ICP intent: what does your audience search for at each funnel stage? Each pillar should support a real business outcome (rank, capture leads, support sales conversations).
