Conversion Rate

The percentage of users who completed a target action.

Conversion rate is the percentage of users who completed your defined goal — sign up, purchase, demo booking — out of those who entered the funnel. The most important metric for any acquisition channel.

Definition discipline matters. "Conversion" can mean a first-touch click, a form submit, a paid signup, or a closed deal. Track each step explicitly: visit-to-trial, trial-to-paid, paid-to-retained. Different channels look very different at each stage.

Typical SaaS landing-page conversion rates: visit-to-signup 2-5%, signup-to-active 30-50%, active-to-paid 5-15%. B2B with sales cycles is much lower at the demo-to-deal step (10-25% is healthy).
