Dofollow Link

A normal link that passes PageRank to its destination.

A dofollow link is a link without the `rel="nofollow"` attribute. It passes PageRank, anchor-text relevance, and topical-authority signals to the linked page. "Dofollow" is not an actual HTML attribute — it's shorthand for "not nofollow."

Most editorial links on the open web are dofollow by default. The big exceptions are user-generated content platforms (Reddit, Quora, comment sections) which apply nofollow site-wide to deter spam.

When you guest-post or earn editorial coverage, confirming the link is dofollow before celebrating is worth the 10-second check. Some publications nofollow guest-author bio links by default.
