Domain Rating (DR)
Ahrefs' 0-100 score of a domain's backlink-profile strength.
Domain Rating is Ahrefs' answer to Moz's Domain Authority. Same idea — a 0-100 score that estimates how strong a domain is based on its backlink profile — but DR weighs the quality and quantity of referring domains slightly differently.
DR is calculated from the number of unique referring domains and their own DR scores. A few backlinks from very high-DR sites move the needle more than dozens from low-DR sites.
Unlike DA, DR does not factor in spam metrics directly. It is purely a strength score based on link equity. Marketers often compare DR alongside DA when prospecting because the two can disagree on the same site by 10-20 points.
