Domain Authority (DA)
Moz's 1-100 score that predicts how well a domain ranks on Google.
Domain Authority is a proprietary score from Moz that predicts how likely a domain is to rank in search results. It runs 1 (lowest) to 100 (highest) on a logarithmic scale, so moving from 20 to 30 is far easier than 60 to 70.
DA is not a Google ranking factor. It is a third-party metric that approximates one. Google does use overall site quality and link equity, which is what DA tries to model. The two correlate, but DA can be wrong.
Most marketers use DA as a backlink-prospecting filter ("only pursue links from DA 40+ sites") and a competitive benchmark. It is most useful when you compare similar sites in the same niche, less useful as an absolute number.
